About Us
About CFR Institute
The CFR Institute is a community-driven initiative created and operated by Pecos Valley Public Services, a licensed Community EMS agency in the State of New Mexico.
With years of experience providing first aid, basic life support (BLS), and disaster relief across our region, we’ve seen firsthand how critical early response is in medical emergencies.
The CFR Institute was founded with one mission:
To train and empower more people to step up and save lives.
By equipping volunteers, neighbors, and everyday citizens with essential skills, we’re building a stronger, safer, and more prepared community — one responder at a time.

Why We Train the Public
First Aid Makes A difference
As an EMS agency, we know one thing for sure: lives are saved long before the ambulance arrives.
That’s why we started our first aid training site — to empower everyday people with the skills to act in those critical first minutes of a medical emergency. Whether it’s CPR, bleeding control, or recognizing a stroke, trained bystanders can make the difference between life and death.
Our goal isn’t just to respond — it’s to build a community of responders. Because when more people know what to do, more lives are saved.
Join us. Learn to save a life.

What’s the difference?
You already have certificates?
Already certified in CPR/AED or Stop the Bleed? That’s a great start — and it’s required for CFR training.
But there’s much more to being a confident, capable responder.
Comprehensive First Aid training goes beyond CPR and bleeding control. You’ll learn how to recognize and respond to a wide range of emergencies — from life-threatening allergic reactions and heart attacks to heat stroke and diabetic crises.
Our online training prepares you to act decisively in real-world situations, giving you the knowledge and confidence to help when it matters most.
Be ready for more than just one emergency. Be ready for anything.
